   The sky was bluer than usual even though it was lightly covered by clouds, the sun was out for the first time in god knows how many months, and the forest was a very comforting shade of green. The only thing that didn't make the day perfect for Kaleb and his fellow pack members was the new threat he'd heard about from Sam. There was a new type of vampire in the area. Not much was known about this vampire exept that she was just as strong as a newborn and that her diet was different from any vampire they'd ever come across. She fed on other vampires.
Kaleb started walking again when he thought of the vampire, and specifically, her diet of newborn vampires. It was basically canibalism, and was very, very strange. In a way, this strange vampire was kind of doing the pack's job - destroying vampires. Whether the vampires she hunted deserved to die or not was another matter, but that was something out of Kaleb's control. His wolf frame rocked from side to side as he moved his feet, listening to the thoughts of the other pack member who was also a wolf at that moment. Jacob was moping somewhere in La Push, stressing about the upcoming wedding between a human and a vampire. Kaleb didn't understand the fuss, mainly because he had never been close to being in love with someone.
Kaleb flinched when Jacob suddenly yelled at him to butt out, saying something about he was just as bad as the bloodsucker Bella was getting married to. Kaleb rolled his eyes, and payed more attention to the forest, looking for any movements that could be the strange canabalistic vampire. Sam thought that because of this vampire's diet, they needed to look out for the Cullens in case she caused them any trouble. The Cullens and the wolfpack were kind of friends now, and Kaleb was happy about that. He could only endure so much hatred for while.

After talking with Emmett, Liza felt that she needed to go for a walk, she needed to clear her thought, about everything! The vulturis had been being good to her, in a way. she had a special diet, and they respected that, Aro allowed her to feed from other vampires, but well that was also a bad thing, she went there first to ask him to destroy her, but they didn't do it, they just convinced her to stay there, that she wasn't abnormal, that she was in fact the perfect evolution...
"Well, maybe I am an evolution... maybe... I'm here to protect humans from evil vampires... that would be a good excuse for my existence!
She thought and then took off her soues and her black cloak, her bronze long curly hair moved freely with a slight breeze, she looked around and smiled, she was wearing a a beautiful long black dress, strapless, she had always hated it! but well, it was like her uniform back with the vulturis, not her war one, but her daily one. She looked down and riped it, from her hip, to her ankle, then smiled widely, she did it on both sides, so she lokked now like an amazon or something like that.
"much better"
She then looked around and smiled, the sunlight was getting to the ground by the small spots that were left by the branches and leaves, and Faith loved that! she felt the cool wet ground under and among her feet and then she looked around and began to run, not fast, she wanted to enjoy everything as in slow motion, and for a vampire that was human speed.
then she heard something, she wasn't alone int that place, but she looked around and she couldn't see a soul. she sniffed into the air and knew that there was something out there... but what was it?!suddenly she ran into a huge magnficent beast! A wolf, but a huge bear sized Wolf!! Black with brown stripes of hair among his fur, it was messy, but his eyes were so warm! Still he was a beast!!
"Oh god..." she said with her melodic soft sweet voice and pinned herself to a trunk a bit far from the wolf. she looked at him. No one told her about the beasts in the woods!! |

Seconds after Kaleb had been told to keep his thoughts away from Jacob's, a cold, hard, rock smashed into him. Not just cold, but damn freezing! The only thing that could ever have that temperature was a... a vampire. The horrid stench in his nose confirmed that fact. Kaleb twisted his big wolf body around, his instincts telling him to rip and shred the vampire. His eyes landed on the vampire. Suddenly, every sense of anything was cut off. He was detached from his body, but his eyes were very much on the vampire woman in front of him.She was tall, elegant and the black dress she was wearing made her look like a goddess. All feeling had evaporated from his being, except the warm, fuzzy glow that was getting stronger and stronger in his heart. He was so caught up in the moment that he didn't hear Jacob mentally screaming "what the fuck?!", and every failed attempt at snapping him out of it.
So this is imprinting, Kaleb almost sighed, I don't know why I was so scared of it... But the beautiful vampire in front of him didn't seem so at ease. She was crouched against a tree in terror. It broke Kaleb's wolfy heart when he realised she was scared by his huge wolf form. He had an urge to comfort her, but he knew he couldn't if he was a wolf. There was no law when a pack member imprinted, he could tell her anything including that he was a wolf. The danger was that she was a vampire, and he was a werewolf. It would take a lot of effort for her to get along with him. Vampires and werewolves were natural-born enemies, a fact that saddened Kaleb.
Kaleb needed to talk to her, needed to know her name. He darted off behind the trees, and tried as quickly as he could to phase. A shimmer went through the air, he knew the vampire would hear it, and he returned to his human form. He pulled his pants on quickly. feeling kind of embarassed that all he had were simple jeans. He felt like dressing up for this woman, which was completely out of character for him. Imprinting must change a lot about people... Kaleb ran back to where he had left the beautiful vampire, and hoped that she hadn't run off.

Faith stood there attached to the tree, in fact she was expecting that thing to attack her! then she would punch him with her still super super vampire strength and then she would run away and warn her family about that beast! She saw it turn and she was just waiting for his attack, feeling her muscles stretching and tightening. but then the wolf stopped, it was as if someone had just given him a sleeping shot, or something like that.
She waited then looking at him, now that she looked at him in a better closer way... it wasn't that horrible! in fact he was cute... like a super dog! well... more or less, and those eyes!! they seemed to be happy first then so sad! it broke her heart to see that, and even more know that maybe she did it!
Then the wolf simply dissapeared behind a bunch of trees, her first instinct was to run, to get a safer place!, but then her curiosity... as always won. She looked at the place where he had run away and waited, then she heard something, like cracking bones or something like that. "what's going on?" she thought and waited.
Suddenly a man walked from behind the trees, he was wearing just a pair of jeans, he was tall and his skin was tan, it was something new and not usual for her, maybe the wolf ran because of this man!, but why?! he didn't seem strong enough! but yet, he was handsome and brought even more Faith's attention to him.
She got a bit closer, looking at this man of long black hair with brown stripes... WAIT!! She focused on his eyes, the same brown warm eyes. "it is impossible" she said with her sweet voice and then walked a bit closer staying like a yard far from him. she waited there, to see if this man was real or jusy a god who came to earth to take care of that beast! |

Kaleb exhaled in relief when he found his world standing there, almost waiting for him. He stared into the woman's eyes, a little taken aback that her eyes were not the gold or red of the other vampires. Instead her eyes were a lovely light violet. Odd, but beautiful. Kaleb smiled when she started to walk to him, but he chewed his lip a little when she stopped. Of course she wouldn't be comfortable, he was a werewolf! But she hadn't run away yet...
"Hi," Kaleb smiled, taking a small step forward. He wanted to be closer, but he didn't want to startle her. "I'm Kaleb..." he said uncertainly, praying that she wouldn't run away. "What's your name?" he asked, feeling very silly. He had no idea what he was doing.

Faith stayed then, she noticed that the man smelled like wet dog, but at the same time, he smelled like fresh leaves, he smelled like the forest, and she loved that smell, she could even forget about the wet dog smell, because of the other smel, so fresh, so free.
He walked a step to her and even when her brain was yelling at her to run away, to get to a safe place, to be as far as she could from that strange man, she stayed there, just looking at him, he squared shapes, his muscular shapes, she breathed deeply and calmed herself so she could stay there, her curiosness was bigger than he mental sanity!
when he talked to her, she looked at him as if she couldn't understand his words, but it was just that she wanted to memorize each of his words, his voice. She smiled slightly when she heard his name, it was a nice name. But he asked hers, she didn't know if she should give him her name, or not.
"Elizabeth Faith..." she said and breathed deeply again, then she continued. "Faith Cullen" she smiled a bit more and then bit her lower lip. "are you... the owner of the...wolf?" she didn't know if he would think it would be rude if she called the wolf a beast. |

Kaleb's smile widened when the beautiful lady before him smiled, and he sighed when he heard her name. Elizabeth Faith. Faith Cullen. She must be part of the Cullen clan. Well, at least she wasn't some wild vampire. Again Kaleb stared into Faith's violet eyes, his curiosity getting the best of him. He would ask her about it later.
"Such a pretty name..." he said softly, his voice getting all whispery in the breeze.
Faith asked if she was the owner of the wolf, and Kaleb chuckled a little at her discomfort with the question. Was she frightened? Was she embarassed? Or was there another reason? He sighed and spoke softly. "Technically, yes." He didn't know how to proceed. He could tell her what he was, he needed to if he wanted to have any kind of relationship with her. "I'm kind of... a werewolf."
Kaleb stared at her, trying to predict her reaction. She would be horrified! It was stupid to tell her! He wished he could go back in time and take back those words. It was best if she were oblivious! Kaleb sighed, he couldn't take them back, and waited for her to say something.

Faith heard his soft whisper and smiled abit more. "thank you" she mouthed and then waited for his explanation about the wolf, in fact this man smelled just as the wolf did, but it was impossible... right? then he began to talk, his voice, she didn't know why was calming and relaxing to her, she loved its sound.
"I'm kind of a warewolf"
This words brought into her memory a fullmoon's night, when Aro and Caius sent her with other 5 vampires to hunt down such a creature, it killed three of her team mates and broke several of her bones, before they could finally kill it!
She hissed and jumped to a higher branch, from there she looked at the man, but then she compared the wolves, the one they killed was more like a wolf with human form, but the one that she just saw, was a full wolf, and it didn't attack her, he transformed back, it was daytime, no moon up in the sky. Then he was a shapeshifter not a werewolf.
She thought she was a fool, but well, she had survived so many things to be acting like a newborn! Then she bit her lower lip and jumped back, right in front of the man, just an arm away from him. "You know what I am...why didn't you hurt me?" she asked now with fear in her voice, but looking into his sweet warm eyes. She didn't know why, but she felt she could trust that weird man. |

Kaleb’s eyes widened when Faith jumped up in the tree, Faith’s face completely covered in terror. Kaleb whirled his body around, determined to find the cause of her fear and squish it. Nothing should ever scare Faith. Ever. He couldn’t find anything. There was nothing living for miles.
Oh. Kaleb said when he realised Faith was scared of him, not some other unseen enemy. His heart ached, rejection clear in his eyes. They started watering, but he crushed any chance of crying. He would not cry, never, especially not in front of Faith. He swallowed nervously when she jumped back down from the tree branch, his heart still full of pain. He bit his lip again, trying to stop the tears. His breathing stopped when Faith asked why he hadn’t attacked her, and he shrugged lightly.
The whole ‘vampires-and-wolves-must-be-enemies’ thing is tiring. I don’t really want to fight your kind.” Kaleb said as truthfully as he could, not mentioning anything about imprinting. If he told her that she was his whole world after just a few seconds of seeing her, she would be truly freaked out and she would run away. He was not going to risk that, not now. Maybe in the future he would.
So you live with the Cullens? Kaleb asked, wanting her to talk. He loved the sound of her voice, so sweet and soft.

Faith looked at his eyes, and he wasn't angry... his eyes showed something else... they shouwed... pain, but she hasn't hurt him... right? When he talked to her, his voice let her know everything was ok, she didn't need to fear around him, and his replay was completely what she would think in normal conditions!
"that is something... different" she smiled a bit and then relaxed smiling a bit again, just in a shy way. Then she breathed deeply and shrugged.
"I'm... I used to live with them, but i left, I ran away... now... I'm trying to come back, to... do the right thing" she still couldn't understand why, she just... trusted him!!
"So... Kaleb... you are a quilehuete, right? I... wasn't here last time my father talked to the tribe, and made the deal... am I... breaking the deal, by being here?" she asked fearing now for her family. |
