After talking with Emmett, Faith felt that she needed to go for a walk, she needed to clear her mind, about everything! She had a special diet, and the Vulturi respected that, Aro allowed her to feed from other vampires, but well that was also a bad thing, she went there first to ask him to destroy her, but they didn't do it, they just convinced her to stay there, that she wasn't abnormal, that she was in fact the perfect evolution...
"Well, maybe I am an evolution... maybe... I'm here to protect humans from evil vampires... that would be a good excuse for my existence!"
She thought and then took off her shoes and her black cloak, her bronze long curly hair moved freely with a slight breeze, she looked around and smiled, she was wearing a a beautiful long black dress, strapless, she had always hated it! but well, it was like her uniform back with the vulturis, not her war one, but her daily one. She looked down and riped it, from her hip, to her ankle, then smiled widely, she did it on both sides, so she lokked now like an amazon or something like that.
"much better"
She then looked around and smiled, the sunlight was getting to the ground by the small spots that were left by the branches and leaves, and Faith loved that! she felt the cool wet ground under and among her feet and then she looked around and began to run, not fast, she wanted to enjoy everything as in slow motion, and for a vampire that was human speed.
then she heard something, she wasn't alone int that place, but she looked around and she couldn't see a soul. she sniffed into the air and knew that there was something out there... but what was it?! It smelled like wet dog!! suddenly she ran into a huge magnficent beast! A wolf, but a huge bear sized Wolf!! Black with brown stripes of hair among his fur, it was messy, but his eyes were so warm! Still he was a beast!!
"Oh god..." she said with her melodic soft sweet voice and pinned herself to a trunk a bit far from the wolf. she looked at him. Edward told her about the wolves there... they had a truce, but... did she broke it by being there?! |

   The sky was bluer than usual even though it was lightly covered by clouds, the sun was out for the first time in god knows how many months, and the forest was a very comforting shade of green. The only thing that didn't make the day perfect for Kaleb and his fellow pack members was the new threat he'd heard about from Sam. There was a new type of vampire in the area. Not much was known about this vampire except that she was just as strong as a newborn and that her diet was different from any vampire they'd ever come across. She fed on other vampires.
Kaleb started walking again when he thought of the vampire, and specifically, her diet of newborn vampires. It was basically cannibalism, and was very, very strange. In a way, this strange vampire was kind of doing the pack's job - destroying vampires. Whether the vampires she hunted deserved to die or not was another matter, but that was something out of Kaleb's control. His wolf frame rocked from side to side as he moved his feet, listening to the thoughts of the other pack member who was also a wolf at that moment. Jacob was moping somewhere in La Push, stressing about the upcoming wedding between a human and a vampire. Kaleb didn't understand the fuss, mainly because he had never been close to being in love with someone.
Kaleb flinched when Jacob suddenly yelled at him to butt out, saying something about he was just as bad as the bloodsucker Bella was getting married to. Kaleb rolled his eyes, and payed more attention to the forest, looking for any movements that could be the strange cannibalistic vampire. Sam thought that because of this vampire's diet, they needed to look out for the Cullens in case she caused them any trouble. The Cullens and the wolf pack were kind of friends now, and Kaleb was happy about that. He could only endure so much hatred for while
Seconds after Kaleb had been told to keep his thoughts away from Jacob's, a cold, hard, rock smashed into him. Not just cold, but damn freezing! The only thing that could ever have that temperature was a... a vampire. The horrid stench in his nose confirmed that fact. Kaleb twisted his big wolf body around, fighting his instincts telling him to rip and shred the vampire. Sure enough, his eyes locked on the vampire. She was pretty, but all vampires were. It was a vamp thing. Her eyes were wide with fear, and though she was vampire, Kaleb felt he needed to assure her everything was okay. It didn’t matter if he revealed himself to be a wolf - they knew of each other, and no doubt she already knew what he was.
Kaleb darted behind a tree and phased back to human, a shimmer running through the air and he pulled his jeans on. He ran back to the place he’d left the vampire and smiled a little at her. ”Um, hi,” he said uncertainly, not knowing what the vampire’s reaction would be. If it was anything like the reaction of other vampires, she’d try to rip his throat out. He swallowed, he definitely didn’t want that. He hoped that this vampire was ‘tame’.

For a second, Fait was tempted to run away, to run for her life! but then she looked at the wolf and it wasn't charging against her, he was just looking at her, and well. maybe that was something good, maybe she hadn't broken anything about the truce and deal.
Then she saw how the wolf walked behind a tree and she began to listen weird and strange sounds, as if some brones were cracking. she sighed and walked some steps far from the trunk where she had pinned herself.
She listened some footsteps and she looked in that direction, it was a tall man, beautiful tanned skin tall man. she smiled at him. After all Edward said the shapeshifters in the zone were friends, well... almost all of them.
"Hello" she said with her melodical voice and gave a slight nod. his voice was deep but magnificent, and so manly! If she would had a beating heart, it would have been beating a mile per second! |

Kaleb nodded when the vampire said hello, and said ”This is neutral territory. You’re fine here,” Although the vampire hadn’t asked, Kaleb could tell that she was worried about the boundary line between Cullen territory and wolf territory. He was relieved that she appeared ‘tame’ as Sam had once put it, which made him think she must be one of the Cullens. He looked into the vampire’s eyes, but did not see the golden colour he expected. Instead her eyes were a pretty light violet colour. Why was this?
”I’m Kaleb, and you are...?” Kaleb’s voice trailed off as he finished his question, he had never seen, heard or even smelt the vampire around. Somehow the vampire smelt different. Of course the stench was horrible, but beneath that there was something else, something pretty and floral. Thank god he was no longer in his wolf form or Jacob would be yelling at him after hearing his thoughts. Jacob would have liked it if he was mad at the vampires, but he was quite the opposite. He was grateful in a way.

Faith smiled at the man and then nodded as thanking him for the information, could Wolves read minds? it was exactly what she needed to know and he told her so.
"Thank you! I was really worried of breaking the deal!" she bit her lower lip and then when she heard his name, she smiled a bit again, it was a nice name, ironic by the meaning of it... dog. she smiled and then told him her name.
"Oh... I'm sorry spent long time far from people" she smiled and shrugged. "Faith Cullen... nice to mett you Kaleb" she stretched out her hand, she had heard Edward talking about Seth, she had even seen him in the house talking to him and Bella, so... well... why not being nice to this man?! besides when he was that wolf, his stink was horrible!! but now, even though he smelled like wet dog, the fresh scent of the forest came from him too. it was something different, but really nice!! |

Kaleb nodded, his lips mashed tightly together as the vampire smiled. She was pretty, even for a vampire. It was strange how the loyalty to his pack pulled him one way and his common sense pulled him the other. It was an odd feeling; he knew Faith was a good person, yet the wolf in him was telling him to rip and tear. It was tearing him in two as he fought that instinct.
Kaleb grudgingly shook Faith’s hand, the freezing temperature of her skin giving him goosebumps. He hoped that she wouldn’t see his discomfort as disrespect; it was merely an instinct, a reaction that he was born with. The vampire’s stench filled his nostrils and almost made him want to puke. Kaleb smiled and nodded anyway, and said ”Nice to meet you, Faith,” anyway.
”So you live with the Cullens?” Kaleb asked.

Faith smiled at Kaleb, but the stink of wet dog was... well, disgusting for her nose, but she acted as if she hadn't been smeeling that, she better focused her smelling sense to the flowers and grass unders her feet and around them. The hot burning touch of his skin made her shiver, it reminded her the fire used to kill her kind.
She breathed deeply and nodded slowly and then shrugged. "yes, I came back from a long trip away... so now I'm planning to stay with my family again"
It was so easy to talk to this man... even when he was a shapeshifter, even when Edward told her about how they were natural enemies... she just felt really well with that man.
"so... as I'm new here... could you show me the real borders? I don't want to start a war because of my ignorance" she had noticed him shivering too... maybe because of her cold skin. "I promise not to touch you" then she winked. She had always been shy as a human, but as a vampire all of that changed. |

Kaleb nodded when Faith asked if he could show her the borders. He would help, even though the borders would be known to her by the distinct smells of vampires and werewolves. Kaleb led Faith down the boundary line, making sure he kept to the Quileute side. The smell from all around him was revolting, but he put that aside when he talked to Faith. He didn’t want to be rude.
”How are the Cullens?” he asked when he finally thought of something to say. ”I haven’t met any of them, but I know of Edward and Bella.” Kaleb smiled.

Faith smiled and nodded thanking him his attention with her, his natural enemy. She knew why Rosalie was always complaining about the dog smell while they had to work with them fighting against the newborns' army.
After a couple of minutes after they were waling, he always on his side of the boarder, she never crossed it either, she listened to his voice and question she smiled and said. "well... they're fine... Bree is doing very well, and you know... with the upcoming wedding... all of them are really excited"
then she sighed and decided to ask for the other wolves. "and... the pack? I don't know them either... but I know they worked with my family against the newborns' army" |

Kaleb nodded when Faith spoke about Bree, remembering that Jacob had been worrying his arse off about Bella and the newborn being around each other. When, in the end, it was Bree’s presence that was delaying her transformation. The wedding was another thing that Jacob had been stressing about, he had no idea whether he should go. The pain it would inflict on himself was huge, but it would also hurt Bella if her best man wasn’t there.
”Um,” he muttered when Faith asked about the pack, ”They’re all good. Mostly, I mean. Jacob could be better.” he looked into the vampire’s eyes, not knowing if she even knew who Jacob was. He shrugged mentally and continued walking.
”Up there is where it’s neutral again,” Kaleb said, pointing to where the forest was beginning to thin, a few hundred metres away. He smiled at Faith, and even though they were both natural born enemies, Kaleb found he could talk to her and be friends without getting angry. Stupid ‘wolves and vampires must be enemies’ crap. Their own stubbornness to new things probably caused the fighting. The stench wasn’t that bad... Okay, it was still horrible, but Kaleb could look past that.

Faith sighed and nodded, she had seen Jacob from time to time at the house, he was for sure really confused with all the things that had been happening. "I'm glad the pack is ok" after all it was his family so as the cullens were hers.
she looked up when he pointed up there and smiled, it was good to know that there was a good place to hang out, then she wouldn't have to be worrying about trasspassing or not. she walked up there and smiled a bit more when the sun hit her skin making it to sparkle.
"Well, at least I won't break the deal here" she looked back at him and then smiled again. It would be great if she could hang out there with him! he seemed to be really nice and easy to talk with, the smell of wet dog wasn't that bad out there with fresh air. "do you... come here often?" |

Kaleb nodded, his steps starting to turn sluggish. He sighed, wishing that Jacob was okay. It wasn’t easy to have to hear his heartbreak every time they were both wolves. Sometimes Kaleb hoped that Jacob would get over it; it wasn’t healthy for the poor guy to mope around all the time. What he needed was an imprint, but that was highly unlikely.
The sun finally decided to show itself from the clouds for the first time in the day, the whole forest brightening significantly. Kaleb looked over at Faith, her skin glittering like crazy. He’d heard about how vampires looked in the sunlight, seen it through the pack’s memories, but nothing could compare to seeing it for himself. It was truly spectacular, like millions of diamonds were etched onto Faith’s pale skin. The light bounced off them and made rainbows dance around her body. Kaleb stood there with his mouth hanging open like an idiot, dumbfounded that a vampire could look so... He couldn’t find a word to describe her beauty in that instant. The sun hid behind the cover of clouds again, and Faith’s skin returned to normal. Kaleb was finally able to think clearly, and he smiled at her. It took more effort than necessary to remember what the vampire had just said.
”Yeah, this is part of the pack’s patrol lines. I come here by myself from time to time. The forest is relaxing.” Kaleb smiled at Faith, remembering the afternoons he’d spent lying on the forest floor (in wolf form of course, they had to keep connected most of the time) and just staring at the trees, the moss and everything green around him. His smile widened.
”How old are you, Faith?” the question popped out of Kaleb’s mouth without him telling his lips to move. ”Um, I mean if it’s not too...” he stuttered, trying not to make himself look more like an idiot. ”...personal.” He smiled as he tried to hide his embarrassment, but he didn’t think he was doing too well. ”Ah, I’m sorry. I’m a little strange today,” he smiled the tiniest bit and ran his fingers through his long hair. The rest of the pack had cut all of theirs off, but Kaleb liked it long. Plus it was good to have a long wolf coat in winter. The knots it got into were hell to untangle, though.

Faith looked at Kaleb and when she noticed the way he looked at her, she could have blushed, it was really weird that someone looked at her like that, the last time someone had seen her like that she had been alive, 16 years old, her sweet 16's, she smiled when she remembered that, but then her attention was brought back to that place when the sun hid again behind the clouds, she looked up and sighed, she loved the sun hitting her body, but it was really difficult in that place.
She looked back at Kaleb and smiled again, she used to love to smile, but she had stopped doing it while she had been with the vulturis,but now with Kaleb it seemed something natural again in her, she felt it natural again. "it would be great to see you again... and maybe... talk"
she said but right after that he surprised her with that question. a normal woman maybe would had gotten angry, but she didn't she just smiled at his... embarrassment. "it's ok" she shook slightly her head and then smiled a bit again. "well... I was 17 when... this happened to me" she said opening her hands and arms slightly to show him her body, to let him know that what happened was she stopped being human byt that age.
"but i've been a vampire for a long time... I'm 109 years old" she said kind of sad, she knew she was old, she was way older than him, and didn't know why, she felt sad because of that, as if she knew it was a wall that would keep some distance between them... her smile was sad by that moment. But tryed to make it seem normal.
"and you?" She knew the answer would be muchyounger than she was! but she felt it a normal question!
She noticed he looked really handsome with that long black hair, his tan skin was so... warm, so opposite of what she was and represented! he was life and warmth, she was death and cold. |

Kaleb felt his skin get warmer - you’d think it would be impossible for his body temperature to get any hotter - and the blood rushed to his face when Faith said she’d like to see him again. In the non-supernatural world, that would have meant attraction. But in the vampires versus werewolves’ world, it was more than a little strange. Kaleb was flattered, none the less, that a vampire was possibly interested in him. She could do a lot better though, stick to her own species. Kaleb tried to ignore why the image of Faith being with another vampire made him jealous. Of course Faith was pretty, maybe even beautiful, but they all were. Something about her though made Kaleb think she was different to the average vampire, that she was beautiful inside and out. ”Yeah, I’d like that.” he finally answered, thinking of the reaction he’d get from the pack when he’d think about this later.
”Wow, one hundred and nine...” he whispered. He couldn’t help being shocked when she told him her age, heck that was bloody old! She definitely was different, but loads of experience couldn’t be a bad thing. Kaleb smiled, thinking that maybe his reaction wasn’t what she wanted. ”Well you look excellent for your age.” he winked and his smile widened.
”I’m nineteen, twenty in December.” he shrugged, secretly wishing for some birthday surprise that would never happen. His smile stayed firm on his face, though he wondered if Faith saw through it.
”I don’t mean to pry, but...” Kaleb hesitated before asking the question that he’d been wanting to ask for ages. ”Why are your eyes violet? As far as I know they can only be red or gold?” Was Faith some new breed of vampire? A super breed? He nearly chuckled when he tried to think of how vampires could be any more super. Seriously, they had everything going on. The looks, the speed, the strength, the freaking amazing gifts. How could a vampire be any more superior to every other Earth life form? Kaleb’s smile widened, imagining a new breed of vampire that could fly.

But then she smiled and nodded. "well thank you... at least I spend little money in cold creams" she winked and then sighed.
"Nineteen?... wow!! you look much older!... like 22 or even 25 years old!..." she smiled and walked some steps closer looking at him, his muscular body, his height, he realy didn't seem a 18 and a half year old guy. "at least you don't need ID to go to a bar and have a beer, right?" she winked at him.
His next question was what took the smile off her face, even her family thought it was grosse the reason of her special eyes... now, what would he think?!
"oh... emm well..." she breathed deeply and then withut looking at him she told him the reason. "I know it's... well... gross... but... I'm a... well Carlisle says I'm a different breed of vampire, like an evolution..."
She walked some steps away from him and leabed her back against a tree. "so as carnivores eat hervivores, humans eat both of them, vampires drink human blood... I drink vampires' blood..." she didn't dare to look at him, she couldn't bare the dislike and disgust in his face. "I'm... like you and the pack... I protect humans from other vampires... the vampire's blood makes my eyes violet"
She got quiet and waited for his reaction, maybe he would just run away from her or yell at her about the crazy mind she had, she just waited looking to the green moss on the ground.
