   Kaleb chuckled when Faith winked at him, and felt his cheeks get warmer. He tried to suppress the ‘butterflies in the stomach’ feeling that was overcoming him, but was failing. He knew the look in his eyes was one of adoration and it was pure enough that he couldn’t hide it at all.
”Yep, nineteen.” Kaleb said when Faith was shocked about his age. ”It’s a wolf thing to mature physically pretty quickly. And I don’t like alcohol,” he shrugged and smiled when he saw Faith’s eyes go up and down his body, ‘checking him out’ as his friends would have said. And then that would have resulted in heaps of mockery and gagging sounds by the pack. There was no such thing as a vampire-werewolf romantic relationship, and when he realised that, his spirits instantly deflated.
Kaleb watched Faith’s face as she struggled for words to explain why her eyes were violet. He noticed flashes of emotion, each disappearing as quickly as they came about. In her eyes the shape shifter could see shame, sadness and fear. Kaleb instantly realised Faith was the vampire who the pack thought the Cullens needed to be protected from. What a silly bunch of wolves. The Cullens were under no danger from Faith, they were family. He’d have to tell Sam about that as soon as he could. He couldn’t let the pack ‘hunt’ Faith when there was nothing wrong with her. Having vampires for a meal was a little bit disturbing... but hey, he was known for being open minded, so he didn’t have anything against her for it.
Kaleb looked into Faith’s deep violet eyes that were staring at the ground in sadness. He ignored all of his wolf-sense and lifted her chin up with his finger so she had to look him in the eyes. Her skin was indeed freezing, but with cold came beauty. Staring into Faith’s soul, his hand sliding up to her cheek, he whispered, ”There’s nothing wrong with that.” He smiled the tiniest bit, thinking that, even though vamp blood made them that way, her violet eyes were very, very pretty.

She looked up right into his brown eyes, they were so warm, so alive, she got mesmerized by then in a second, but were his words what brought a flame of hope into her long dead frozzen heart. ”There’s nothing wrong with that.”
she didn't really know how to answer to that, she had no words, only feelings for that, she was thankful, and also felt shy, and happy and even scared, why she was feeling these feelings for this wolf? It was something impossible right? a Vampire and a Werewolf?! that was incredible, impossible, but yet... why not? at least... friendship, they could be friends... right?
She smiled in a sweet innocent way and placed her cold dimondish hand on his chest and felt his beating heart, but instead of feeling thirst with that amazing liquid sound, she felt even happier, because it was beating, because he was alive there with her. "Great..." she could finally manage to say. "I guess I could... go hunting with you... sometime" then she smiled a bit more. "then we could go and drink something... a soda maybe... or a juice?" because he didn't like alcohol, and she loved that, she hated men who liked alcohol.
she didn't move her face, she liked the warm touch of his hand and didn't move her hand either, she loved not only to hear his heart, but to feel it and his warm body was like the thing that was keeping her now... alive, warm and not like a living statue.

Kaleb didn’t move his hand from Faith’s cheek, he just continued to stare into her eyes. Even though heaps of people thought vampire’s were soulless, Kaleb could definitely see Faith’s soul through her violet eyes. He saw confusion, grief and sadness. She was ashamed of whom she was, and he would do everything in his power to change that.
Kaleb watched as Faith smiled a little, and gave her a smile of his own. A shiver ran down his spine when she placed her hand over his chest, but it had nothing to do with the temperature of her body. Kaleb nodded slowly when she suggested hunting together, and a soda or something. Wow, a date! Had he not been consumed in the moment, he probably would have broken out in a happy dance. ”Yeah, I’d like that.” he whispered.
A loud barking noise startled Kaleb, and he dropped his hand quickly. He looked behind him and saw Jacob in his wolf form, who must have been looking for him. Kaleb didn’t know how much he’d witnessed, but Jake didn’t look too happy. Blush returned to Kaleb’s cheeks and he turned back to Faith and talked urgently.
”Um, look, I have to go.” he peeked at Jacob from the corner of his eye, alert for any attack that he might launch at Faith. For the moment he seemed to be okay. He wasn’t angry at the vampire, he was angry at Kaleb. ”I’ll be back later, wolf duties.” he rolled his eyes, but the high pitched yelp from Jacob told him to hurry up. ”When do you want to get that soda?” he asked.

Then he told her that he would like to go with her. She smiled even more and felt how warmth began to spread all over her body.
then wolves sounds... she looked back in the moment Kaleb took his hand off her cheek, she was angry who dare to interrupt them?! that was definetely her vampire self, being so emotional about everything that happened around the things she liked or loved...
It was a wolf, his fur was brick color and he was maybe a couple of inchest higher than Kaleb in his wolf form. then she understood, that maybe this wolf was like Kaleb's superior or smething like that. she looked back at Kaleb, she was worried but becuase of Kaleb's safetiness. shedidn't trust that wolf, she didn't know why. She would have killed him in a second if Kaleb wasn't one of them, maybe he was his borther or something like that.
She wanted to tell him not to go, not to put himself in danger, but she knew he would have to go. Edward had told her some stuff about wolves' way of act. she sighed and then she looked back into Kaleb's eyes and she smiled again. "be careful... please..." then she smiled a bit more and then looked back at the other wolf and glared at him then looked back and smiled. "well... what about... tonight... if your duties allow you that"
She grabbed a stone from the ground and using her perfectly polished nail and carved on it a number. "this is my phone number at home... call me to confirm ok?" she smiled and wanted to kiss his cheek, but then she knew that maybe he would get in more troubles if she did that. "well... see you... later... Kaleb" she stood a step back to let him go.

Kaleb watched Faith’s expression change to anger, obviously directed at Jacob. ”He won’t hurt you. Or he shouldn’t.” Kaleb said the last few words to the wolf behind him. In Faith’s eyes, Kaleb also saw that she didn’t want him to go. He smiled, on the verge of doing a happy dance. ”I’ll be careful, promise,”
When Faith asked if tonight was fine, Kaleb turned around for Jacob’s decision. Jake didn’t have to be human for his judgement to be clear. His big wolf head shook to and fro, showing them that whatever they were doing, they wouldn’t be back in time. Kaleb was annoyed with Jake, and rolled his eyes at him. He took the rock from Faith’s hands and observed the number written in elegant script. It was already in his memory, and he wouldn’t forget it. He kept the rock anyway, and put it in the side pocket of his shorts. ”We will, some time.” He sighed, wishing that Jacob would exempt him from whatever the pack was doing tonight. As if Jacob could read his thoughts, Kaleb heard a wolfy gagging noise. ”Sheesh, Jake. I’m coming.”
Kaleb rolled his eyes again and turned back to Faith who was saying goodbye to him. ”Okay, I’ll see you later.” he winked and smiled. ”Bye, Faith.” he said as he ran off into the trees. As soon as he was out of the vampire’s sight, he returned to his wolf form, where he was greeted by a lot of angry, shocked and grossed out pack members.
What the hell, Kaleb? Jacob said, wondering what all the fascination was with vampires. Everyone was with one these days. All Kaleb could do was roll his eyes, he didn’t bother to answer to any of their nasty comments. He looked through the trees of the forest and saw the only person he could think about - Faith Cullen. Under the orders of the alpha, he ran out of the forest and back to La Push.

"sure... maybe other time" She looked at the other wolf and glared at him, she knew that wolf wouldn't let him come back... not as long as he showed some interest on a vampire.
She waited there until they left, she smiled when she heard Kaleb turning into a wolf, then she could see among the trees and plants the black wolf with brown stripes that was looking at her, she waved at him a good bye and then when he really left that place, she sighed and walked back to the Cullens house.
She was sure that Edward would be mad at her for leaving without telling where or for how long she was going to be out. Well it was ok, meeting Kaleb worthed all the mind punishment and scolding that Edward could give her.
she looked down to her hand, the one that had touched his chest, she put it on her nose and breathed in. It made her wrinkle her nose, but she also smiled, under the wet dog smell, it was the scent of fresh goods, the forest itself, all what she loved of that place!! and it was Kaleb who had that scent. She smiled again and then walked looking up to the sky, she was really happy of meeting that werewolf... that hot blooded man... Kaleb.
