Faith waited for Carlisle in his office, she knew that he would have to comeback sooner or later, not matter what he would always come back, and she wanted to talk to him before killing Bree, she wanted to tell him why she had to do it, and also why she was there!
"He will never forgive me..."
She said in an almost not soundable mutter as she was looking at the painting where he was with Aro, Caius and Marcus. |

Carlilse opened the door to his office. Everyone was out today, he didnt know where they were but he knew that they werent home. The house was so silent, so he figured that there wasnt anyone here. Edward was probably with Bella at her house, Alice and Jasper, well Alice said that she had some shopping to do and was going to drag Jasper with her, and Rosalie and Emmett were out hunting. Bree was probably with one of them... Well hanging around Alice or Bella most likely.
He opened his office door and froze. Sitting in his chair was a face he hadnt seen for over 50 years. It was his first daughter, who he hadnt really spoken to anyone about, well except Esme and Edward. But even then he didnt know if they could feel what he felt about her leaving.
"faith what are you doing here?" he wispered staring at her

Faith was looking at the portrait when she heard the almost not audible sound of the principal door opening and closing, then the shallow and also firm strong steps, walking down the hall directly to the place where she was, she breathed deeply and looked back the moment he opened the door of the office.
His voice had been like a warm touch to her frozen soul, she smiled tenderly at him, the same way she used to do it before leaving his side, her family's side.
"Hello Fa... Carlisle"
Her embarrassement was too much to let her call him father again, but it wasn't because she didn't love him!
"I understand if I'm not welcomed or... allowed to be in this house... but I'm on a mission"
Carlisle knew she was working for Aro. |

Carlisle watched her carefully. It wasnt that he didnt love her still, it was just that she had kinda turned on the family. But... He didnt know what to say. He would have to find out more before he judged her. He wanted her back but her eating habits were not as the rest of his family's was. And he couldnt suffice if she did come back. He probably wouldnt allow it. And Carlisle didnt know how she would react if he told him she couldnt feed as she had been allowed to feed.
"Hello Faith" He smiled and walked slowly towards her. "and dont be silly you are still my daughter, you are welcome here. You just may not feed here. " He gave her a half smile. "and what is the mission? We have not done anything to involve the Volturi here."

Faith looked at him, even with her vampire memory, she felt she almost forgot how perfect and gentle was her father, she half smiled at him but then when he remembered her about not feeding in there she smirked again in a bittered way.
"Oh... don't worry I wouldn't eat my brothers or sister... that's why I left... remember?" she said mentioning it because last time she was there, she almost killed Alice.
Then she walked to the other side of the office, where was a beautiful large wide window. she breathed deeply and then looked back at him. "oh, but you do... the first one is the still human Bella Swan... Jane told Aro about her being... human. But I'm not here because of her, Aro said... he would give you more time, because of your friendship and me being there"
It was true, if she left the Vulturis, it would be also a problem for the Cullens, Aro wouldn't like someone like her against him in some point.
"I'm here because of the last newborn... the one that Jane and the others didn't kill... Aro thinks she can't be left alive...I'm here to make his justice"
SHe hated that, and she knew Carlisle would hate her, but well, if not, the Cullens would be destroyed by theVulturis and she wasn't going to allow it! |

Carlisle looked at her, remembering very well the night that she had tried to bite Alice. He shook his head. "the past is the past, and we must try to go along and learn from our mistakes, we must try to forgive. " However when she started talking about Bree... He tensed up. "Why would he say that she could stay if he was just going to send someone to kill her?"
He frowned, shaking his head. "that makes no sense. Not that we would allow you to do anything to her anyway, she is as much apart of this family as you are. And you say that you wouldnt feed off of your brothers or sisters, well she is your sister now. So how are you going to contradict yourself?" He said it all calmly, nice, not raising his voice but staring at her. "And we are going to change Bella soon, you can tell them that they only need to wait untill after the wedding. " He was going to have to go tell the house that he guessed their time frame was back on, if they had sent someone, even if not for that reason. He sighed, he hated being wrong.

Faith nodded slightly when he mentioned forgiveness, but she knew the others wouldn't forgive her, even if Carlisle could, others like Rosalie or Jasper couldn't!
But then Carlisle's question about Aro's desision made her look at him and she looked at him with a you-already-know-why face.
"You know Aro... he wants to seem magnanimous in everybody's eyes, but he hates to be good, to be the one who loses... he lost when that newborn remained alive, so he sent he angel of death to kill her" then she forwned and shook faster her head.
"No!... I'm the first, I'm your daughter!... you didn't even turned that newborn... how is it, that she's more important now... than me?!" she asked with sorrow and bitter in her voice."she's not my sister... I don't even know her, and my mission is to kill her, so you know that I'll kill her if I want to... not even Emmett or Jasper would be able to stop me" she knew that her death meant her family's survival.
Then she walked to the portrait again and looked at it with hate in her eyes, specially at Caious and Aro, they turned her into what she was! a killer!!
"don't worry... Aro also said, that he would give you more time for Bella's turning... because of your friendship" then she thought the last part. "and as long as I'd worked for him" |

Carlisle looked at her getting defensive. "yes that is all true, I changed you and not her, But she is still apart of this family, And you will not touch her. I dont care if it was an order, They cannot go back on their word. If they do then there will be a fight . Do you really want to have to pick a side?" He narrowed his eyes at her.
"Faith. You are still my daughter, and i miss having you around. But killing Bree is not acceptable. We cannot have that. I will not fight you but there are plenty in this house that will. Do you want that?" He shot her another look/

The only ones that she could have never fight against were Carlisle and Esme. She looked into his eyes and couldn't hold up her cold face anymore. She reflected the shame and the sorrow that was hidden in the deepest part of her soul.
"Carlisle... if you asked me to choose a side... you know I'd be here for you and the family..." her voice was soft and full with pain. "but...if I don't kill her... then they will send their major army to kill you all, because of treason... Aro has just been waiting a reason, to shorten your coven... he's afraid... afraid of you." her voice now was a whisper, just for Carlisle's eyes. " |

Carlisle went to her, and held her in an embrace. "my daughter... " He wispered as he kissed the top of her head. "You know that i will always love you. And i supported you in your decision to go with the Volturi. But i cannot let you kill you. " He narrowed his eyes at her. "and i know he has been looking for an excuse, he wants to collect my family bit by bit, he thinks that..." Carlisle trailed off. "Im sorry, but we cannot let you kill her. And if Aro comes with his army, we will be ready. We have our own friends. " Carlisle held her against him again. "why dont you stay here for a while, see how Bree has changed"

Faith felt him so close, that it evoque the memory when she was a little girl and her biological father wrapped his arms around her just after she fell down and bruised her knees.
"Oh Father... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry!" she said in a whisper but in Carlisle's fine ears was like a painful scream full of all the pain and the shame in her soul.
She looked up at him and then frowned, she thought for a moment and then she nodded, she knew her power would be a very good advantage for the Cullens. "ok... but let me meet her, know her in my own way... don't tell her anything abut me... until I meet her... I swear for the name of my family, that I won't kill her." |

Carlisle smiled at his daughter, and it was a relief to be able to call her that again. "i promise i wont tell her anything. And if you want i will ask the others to do the same. Although we may have a problem convincing some of them" He looked at the door and sighed. "have you seen your brother yet?" He let go of her taking a step back and crossing his arms "Edward ? Have you gone to him yet? You know he would have wanted to be the first person you saw. He really does love you and miss you."
Carlisle then was about to start thinking if he should warn her about Bella, and remind her to not hunt humans but he figured there was no need, she knew all about Bella from the Volturi and she prefered to hunt vampires anyway.

Faith smiled a bit at him, it was good to be home, at least for some days. "no" she said when he asked bout telling the others. "I need them to act normal... to be... angry at me, then Bree will believe it more and she will act normal"
Then she walked to the window, she loved the green of the forest, it gave her so much peace, she missed that in volterra, the woods were too far from the city and she wasn't really allowed to go out.
When Carlisle asked about Edward she frowned and looked back at him. "no... not yet. it doesn't seem like that when he went to volterra, he didn't even ask Aro about me"
She looked at him and smiled saddly. |

Carlisle looked at her, he didnt quite understand her logic but he was going to just let her do what she wanted, he had to show that he trusted her, that he was going to put trust in her. But he still wanted to know why she wouldnt go see her brother, even if he didnt ask about her in Volterra, that didnt mean anything. " Edward had alot on his mind then. And he had to keep Bella safe. I still think that you should go talk to him, it is only the right thing to do, after all he is going to be able to see your intentions here even if nobody else does. It only makes sense to talk to him, and tell him. "
Carlisle watched as she looked out the window, it really did warm his dead non-beating heart that she was back home. He wasnt sure how it was going to work, especially since they all had the need to feed, but his family was almost coming full circle now. " Can you still feed on animals?"

Faith shook her head, she knew Carlisle got a point there, but... well she had never felt that anyone was more imortant for her than her brother, then her family... but a starnger? he was worried about a stranger over to the fact of knowing about his sister?!
"well... I don't want him to know it... the real thing... if he can't forgive me without reading my mind... then he really can't trust me... or beleieve on me"
She sighed not really needing the air coming into her body. She looked at the woods, really wanting to go out there and feel the grass and the wet ground under her bare feet. But Carlisle's voice brought her back to the office. "If I can..?" she looked back at him and nodded with a slight frown. "that means.... that I'm allowed to come back?... to be... part of this family.... again?" her voice was broken and showed the non existent tears. |
